Everyone take a deep breath, you can get as much ammo as you want here.
You can get it at Georgia Arms. There will be a wait of 5-7 weeks "due to very high demand" but the prices are reasonable. Before you panic, there is no reason you can't wait a month and a half or so for a few thousand of whatever. They are located in Villa Rica, Ga, 50 or so miles west of Atlanta, maybe you can pick the stuff up.

Looks great! The 7.62x39 is ONLY $1.15 per round!!!
I'm backin' up the truck baby!! :sarcasm::sarc::sarcasm::sarc::sarcasm: |
Re: Everyone take a deep breath, you can get as much ammo as you want here.
Thanks for the link, Tom! They were sold out of few things, but they have more in stock than most other places I have seen. Some prices are a little steep, but there are some deals to be had. I just placed an order for 500 rounds of 55 grain .223 Rem for $232 shipped to Illinois and it comes in an ammo can. I can live with that ;)

Re: Everyone take a deep breath, you can get as much ammo as you want here.
Whew! Thank goodness... I'm glad I can still pay far too much for ammo, and still wait 2 months for delivery.
The prices on bulk .308 are riduculous... |

Care to enlighten us? If not, then maybe you need to restudy the concept of "supply and demand." |

I don't feel he's implying that at all, just that prices have gotten out of hand.I certainly don't think he means anything sarcastic towards Toms post. JMVHO |

That's only true if a comparable product can be had NOW at a significantly lower price. I haven't done a comprehensive market survey and while these prices are a lot more than I paid last time, they very well could be reflective of the current market. It's kinda like a conversation I have with my Dad once in a while. He'll hear that a P-51 Mustang is for sale for over a million dollars and bellow, "That's RIDICULOUS! After the war, you could buy them all day long for $250." And ya didn't have the money then either, did you? Or like the lady on TV a few months ago after the developer of her condo couldn't sell any more of the RIDICULOUSLY overpriced condos and was facing bankruptcy, so he had a public auction where the condos sold for about half the price he had sold to the lady a year before. She whined and complained and said, "He promised he wouldn't sell any of the remaining condos below market price." So lady, how exactly can a public auction (well promoted) determine anything BUT market price? I'm just sayin' it's easy to bitch about the prices but saying a price is "ridiculous" is just an accusation unless the product is readily available at a substantially lower price. Obviously, Georgia Arms isn't lacking customers if they're six weeks behind so what's so ridiculous about the price? |
Re: Everyone take a deep breath, you can get as much ammo as you want here.
No, I was saying their prices on bulk .308 are ridiculous. They are reloads, listed as "match", but reviews don't necessarily seem to back that up(one said his M1A gets 2"@100yds with the "Canned Heat", that ain't match ammo in my book). The only benefit to this particular ammo is that it is boxer primed, so it is reloadable. But if that's your bag, at $730/1K, you might as well just buy once fired military brass and all the other components, and load your own. In looking around the web, it looks like that is a pretty standard price now for factory loaded ammo, but these are reloads. They have had some problems in the past, kBs in their .223 and .308 ammo, as well as improper OAL in their pistol calibers:
http://www.ar15armory.com/forums/Que...-C-t12972.html You can still get milsurp and european or ruskie .308/7.62 NATO between .44/round and .50/round SHIPPED, with the caveat that it is either steel cased, and/or berdan primed. That's $440-$500/1K, and in stock, ready to ship. It may take a week or two for them to get to your order, depending on the outfit, but it's not a month or two. |

I just compared GA Arms prices to Cheaper than Dirt's and they stack up very well. The main point of this post is that the current ammo panic is just that, a panic. You can get all you need if not all you want. Rising prices will always accompany panic situations, hopefully to discourage someone or group of someones from buying every round in the hemisphere and creating a REAL shortage for the rest of us. |
Re: Everyone take a deep breath, you can get as much ammo as you want here.
Nothing wrong w/ Georgia Arms reloads. Most of the firing ranges around here sell it and I've used quite a bit without problem.

Everyone take a deep breath, you can get as much ammo as you want here.
They are one of the 100's vendors that come on the tour of gun shows here in Florida. Their ammo has never given me a problem over the years. I prefer to pay and carry it out the door. They will be here on 16-17 May--I will contribute to their sales once again.

Re: Everyone take a deep breath, you can get as much ammo as you want here.
Can anyone point me to some cheap .22LR? Wal-Mart has it for 14.47/brick, but never in stock. Everyone I've seen on hte internet has it for $22-25/brick. I'm looking to pay 15-17 and get it now or soon. Does such a deal exist?

Thanks for the link....the comments here seem to be positive about Georgia Arms' loads.
I've been looking for some cheap handgun ammo for the range. |

Not unless you walk into a brick and mortar business or a gun show and get lucky. Start stocking up 6 weeks ago and you should be OK. |
Re: Everyone take a deep breath, you can get as much ammo as you want here.
There are still deals to be found - 2 weeks ago I got 150 rounds 308 for .15 a round. At another table I picked up 400 rounds at .42 ea including 200 of that old Noinco copper washed stuff you used to see back before 94 and the rest was radway Green, FNM, HB etc. including some LC black tip and 3 ammo cans to haul it in
